Knock, Knock. Who’s There? Orange. Orange Who? (Orange You Glad I Didn’t Say Banana?)
Written by Dr. Elliot Lysyk, DC ~ Vernon Chiropractor
Have you ever noticed that if the skin of a fruit, say an orange, is punctured, that mold, bacteria and other microbes quickly move in and start decomposing the fruit? Obviously, you think. If the orange was still hanging from its host tree, the intelligence running through the tree, and therefore through the fruit, would allow the fruit to patch over the puncture, saving it from an early death.
Of course, our bodies are designed to do the same thing. The minute we cut our skin, a passageway for the entry of microbes is created, and our immune defences kick in to patch us up and dispose of the invaders. This process, like most life-maintaining processes in our bodies, happens subconsciously, without you having to think about it.
Chiropractors call this healing force “innate intelligence.” We believe that if interference affects your nervous system, similar to damage to an orange, your body’s healing systems can become impaired—and this lets “dis-ease” in.
This idea is one of the cornerstones of how we help patients improve their health. When parents and their kids receive spinal adjustments to enhance nerve flow, ridding their bodies of postural imbalances, their “inside-out” or innate healing improves, and pain or other health issues improve or go away.
Are there any holes in your health defences? Do you or your kids have symptoms indicating the possibility of a health deficiency? Maybe chiropractic care in Vernon can help recharge and strengthen you?
